Softball Game Preview: Carlynton Cougars vs. Sewickley Academy

The Carlynton Cougars will head out on the road to challenge Sewickley Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Carlynton comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Thursday, Carlynton came up short against Cornell and fell 10-6.

Meanwhile, Sewickley Academy beat Serra Catholic 4-1 on Thursday. That's two games straight that Sewickley Academy has won by exactly three runs.

Sewickley Academy has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs this season. As for Carlynton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Carlynton took their win against Sewickley Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 20-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carlynton since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
