Volleyball Recap: Legacy's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to 14

Legacy waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. They blew past the Erie Tigers 3-0. For the Lightning, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Legacy's got stronger as the match went on, holding Erie to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-12.

Leading Legacy to victory were Claire Tsai and Emma Gray. Tsai had 15 digs, while Gray had ten digs and four aces. Gray has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 30 times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Legacy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in nine consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Erie still got an impressive performance from Devon Twito, who had nine digs and seven assists. Tegan Cerveny also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Legacy's record now sits at 18-3. As for Erie, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.

Coming up, Legacy will take on Highlands Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Erie, after both having extra time off, they and Montrose will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 8:00 a.m. on the 31st.
