Soccer Recap: Nelson County Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nelson County). Their defense stepped up to hand the Altavista Colonels an 11-0 shutout on Monday. Hanna Rivera was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

The win (which was Nelson County's sixth in a row) raised their record to 9-3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six games. As for Altavista, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-2 record this season.
