Softball Game Preview: Rantoul Eagles vs. LeRoy Panthers

The Rantoul Eagles will square off against the LeRoy Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Rantoul was able to grind out a solid victory over Clinton, taking the game 6-2.

Meanwhile, LeRoy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Potters. Considering the Panthers have won 21 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

LeRoy pushed their record up to 27-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rantoul, their win bumped their record up to 8-13.
