Softball Recap: Thunderbird Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Poston Butte, Thunderbird was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Moon Valley Rockets with a sharp 13-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Tessa Mikulich was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Alyson Sekaquaptewa was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

Thunderbird always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Thunderbird has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Moon Valley's loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Thunderbird will have a chance to go back-to-back against Moon Valley: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
