Volleyball Recap: Galena Gets the Win

Galena won the last time they faced West Carroll and things went their way on Thursday too. The Pirates walked away with a 2-0 win over the Thunder. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Galena not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept West Carroll between 17 and 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-18.

Kendra Bauer paced Galena's offense, picking up 11 kills. Bauer got some help from Emma Ehrler and her 22 assists. Finally, Macie Weber kept Galena's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Galena's victory bumped their record up to 17-2. As for West Carroll, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Galena didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Monmouth-Roseville on the 4th. As for West Carroll, they will take on Scales Mound at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
