It was a good run, but East Lake unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls by a score of 2-1. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulls apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2020.

Asalyn Schrotenboer paced East Lake's offense, picking up seven kills. Schrotenboer got some help from Jo Jo Wheaton and her 18 assists. Wheaton also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Maura Haubert, each putting up two.

Wiregrass Ranch was led to victory by Tanner Henderson and Ezgi Demirok. Henderson had 14 digs and three aces, while Demirok had 15 assists and four digs. Demirok is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

East Lake's loss dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Wiregrass Ranch, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-4.

East Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Cypress Creek on the 4th. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Sickles on the 4th.
