Preview: Woodlake Tigers vs. Arvin Bears
Woodlake is on a three-game streak of home losses, Arvin a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Woodlake Tigers will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Arvin Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Thursday, Woodlake took a serious blow against Delano, falling 71-22. While losing is never fun, Woodlake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1402nd, while Delano is ranked 597th).
Meanwhile, Arvin came up short against East Bakersfield last Thursday and fell 55-42.
Despite the loss, Arvin got a solid performance out of Allen Stone, who scored 15 points. The match was Stone's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Miguel Damian was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Woodlake's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Arvin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
