Basketball Game Preview: North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers vs. Rutherford Rams

North Bay Haven Academy is 1-7 against Rutherford since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Buccaneers will be home for the holidays to greet the Rams at 6:00 p.m. North Bay Haven Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Rutherford will be coming in after a loss.

On Saturday, North Bay Haven Academy beat Arnold 40-33. The win continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Marlins: they've now won four in a row.

Kaylee Goodpaster continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of North Bay Haven Academy's points. Ally Brady was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 18 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Rutherford took a blow against South Walton on Friday, falling 72-8. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Seahawks are ranked 140th).

North Bay Haven Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Rutherford, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

North Bay Haven Academy took a serious blow against Rutherford when the teams last played back in January, falling 69-17. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Buccaneers were down 46-11.
