Baseball Recap: Woodbury Extends Winning Streak to Five

Woodbury came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Roseville Raiders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 back in April.

Woodbury got a great performance from Kaden Schultz-Kurtti as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tommy Dittrich, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Markfort, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Woodbury pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Roseville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
