Basketball Game Preview: Crossville Lions vs. Douglas Eagles

Crossville is 1-9 against Douglas since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Crossville Lions will take on the Douglas Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Douglas took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Crossville, who comes in off a win.

Crossville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past West End with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 48-31. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Douglas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Kate Duncan Smith DAR, falling 62-36. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Patriots are ranked 136th).

Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Crossville, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-15.

Crossville came up short against Douglas in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 30-22. Can Crossville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
