Preview: Phoenix Military Firebirds vs. Chicago Tech
The Phoenix Military Firebirds will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Chicago Tech at 4:30 p.m. on January 19th.
Last Wednesday, Phoenix Military had to suffer through a rough 64-30 loss at the hands of Little Village. While losing is never fun, Phoenix Military can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 686th, while Little Village is ranked 342nd).
Meanwhile, Chicago Tech beat Little Village 58-51 on Wednesday. The win was just what Chicago Tech needed coming off of a 75-54 defeat in their prior contest.
Jonathan Harris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 38 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Micquel Triplett, who scored 14 points.
Phoenix Military bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Chicago Tech, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Phoenix Military strolled past Chicago Tech in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 54-38. Does Phoenix Military have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chicago Tech turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
