Softball Recap: Shaker Takes a Loss

Shaker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Baldwinsville Bees.

Ruby Szemplinski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Abagael Taylor, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Shaker's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Baldwinsville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shaker will challenge Bethlehem Central at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Bison's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. As for Baldwinsville, they will square off against Cicero-North Syracuse at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
