Baseball Recap: Independence/Gilmanton Find Success

While Independence/Gilmanton's victory against Osseo-Fairchild wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indees had just enough and edged out the Thunder 1-0. The Indees haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Eric Lopez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lopez was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Independence/Gilmanton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Osseo-Fairchild, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Independence/Gilmanton is set to square off against their familiar foe Whitehall at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Osseo-Fairchild will challenge rival Eleva-Strum at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Thunder 1, the Cardinals 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
