Football Recap: San Marin Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

San Marin had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats 27-24.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caedon Afsharipour, who threw for 118 yards and two TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 74 yards on only nine carries. Zui Shelton also helped with two scores in total.

San Marin and St. Ignatius College Preparatory should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Mustangs (ranked 99th) will meet Foothill (ranked 214th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, St. Ignatius College Preparatory will take on Tamalpais at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (71 vs. 303).
