Lumberton was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Douglas Byrd on Tuesday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 23-0 victory. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Shaun Henderson made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Issac Simmons and Austin Thorndyke did most of the damage at the plate: Simmons went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Thorndyke went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Thorndyke's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Graham, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.

Lumberton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Lumberton's record now sits at 14-7. As for Douglas Byrd, their defeat was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15.
