Volleyball Recap: Langston Hughes Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Langston Hughes, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cristo Rey Atlanta 3-2.

Langston Hughes had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 24-26, 25-18, 25-20, 15-9.

Kaylen Dowell paced Langston Hughes' offense, picking up 14 kills. Dowell got some help from Chamarie Lisbon and her 32 assists. Lisbon was also solid from the service line: she led the team with ten aces.

Langston Hughes has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-21 record this season. As for Cristo Rey Atlanta, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Langston Hughes will be playing at home against South Cobb at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cristo Rey Atlanta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
