Basketball Game Preview: Aurora Central Catholic Chargers vs. Kennedy Crusaders

The Aurora Central Catholic Chargers and the Kennedy Crusaders will face off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 14 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Aurora Central Catholic and three for Kennedy.

Aurora Central Catholic's tournament run continued when they took on Schaumburg Christian on Friday. Aurora Central Catholic came up short against Schaumburg Christian, falling 58-36.

Meanwhile, Kennedy lost to Marian Central Catholic on the road by a 72-53 margin on Friday.

Aurora Central Catholic will need focus on slowing down Ja'Veon Sargent-Williams, one of several Kennedy players who made an impact when they last played. He went 7 for 11 on his way to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Those eight boards gave Sargent-Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Dahl, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.

Aurora Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.

Aurora Central Catholic lost to Kennedy on the road by a decisive 72-56 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Aurora Central Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
