Softball Game Preview: South Fulton Red Devils vs. Lake County Falcons

South Fulton has gone a perfect 10-0 against Lake County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. South Fulton will be playing at home against Lake County at 5:00 p.m. South Fulton has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

South Fulton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 15-12 win over Carlisle County on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Devils considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Avery Faulkner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and nine unearned) runs on 12 hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alli McFarland, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabi Long, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Lake County came up short against Haywood on Friday and fell 7-3.

Mariah Valentine was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Lake County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for South Fulton, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.

South Fulton beat Lake County 8-4 in their previous matchup on March 11th. Will South Fulton repeat their success, or does Lake County has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
