Volleyball Recap: Routt Catholic Takes a Loss

Routt Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bloomington Purple Raiders. If the Rockets were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Purple Raiders when the teams met back in October of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Routt Catholic sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 22-25, 15-10.

Grace Cleveland paced Routt Catholic's offense, picking up nine kills. Cleveland got some help from Madi Maro and her seven assists. Cleveland was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Routt Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Bloomington, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 12-18 record.

Routt Catholic has already played their next contest (against Herscher), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Bloomington, they will host Normal Community at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
