Baseball Game Preview: Natchez Bulldogs vs. North Pike Jaguars

Natchez has won four straight games at home, while North Pike has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Natchez Bulldogs will welcome the North Pike Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. Natchez knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully North Pike likes a good challenge.

If Natchez beats North Pike with 17 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Natchez was the clear victors by a 17-9 margin over Crystal Springs on Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, North Pike earned an 8-5 win over Loyd Star on Tuesday.

Bo Barnes looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, North Pike got a big performance out of Dawson Bigner, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. What's more, Bigner posted two RBI, the most he's had over his last 11 contests. Another player making a difference was Peyton McGehee, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

The victory got Natchez back to even at 8-8. As for North Pike, their win bumped their record up to 10-4.

Natchez might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from North Pike in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Natchez avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
