Softball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern managed to slip by Clinton Central the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Comets lost 20-10 to the Bulldogs on Thursday. The Comets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Marly Coan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Elle Winger, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and two doubles.

Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Clinton Central, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-10 record.

Looking ahead, Eastern will welcome Carroll at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Comets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. As for Clinton Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Tri-County at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cavaliers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
