If Whiteland wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Avon, they should've done a better job of containing Stella Hamood. The Orioles put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday for which the team can thank Hamood, who had 19 digs and five aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Avon not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Whiteland between 15 and 18 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-16.

Whiteland's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lilly Brown, who had seven digs and two aces, and Mari Allee, who had six digs. Karlie Roy also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

The victory snapped Avon's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 6-20 record. As for Whiteland, they dropped their record down to 9-15 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Avon has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Zionsville on the 9th. As for Whiteland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Lawrenceburg on the 11th.
