Basketball Game Preview: Gateway Olympians vs. Adams City Eagles

The Gateway Olympians will head out on the road to take on the Adams City Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Gateway's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.

On Saturday, Gateway came up short against Silver Creek and fell 86-74. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (62), the Olympians still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Adams City fought the good fight in their overtime game against Aurora Central on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Trojans 60-55. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gateway will have to contain Jojo Martinez as he made an impact in Adams City's last game. He went 9 of 19 on his way to 28 points. Another player making a difference was Asiah Garcia, who posted eight points and eight boards.

Adams City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Gateway, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Gateway ended up a good deal behind Adams City in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, losing 51-37.
