Soccer Game Preview: Brazoswood vs. Clear Springs

The Brazoswood Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Clear Springs Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Brazoswood's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Clear Falls on Tuesday.

Clear Lake typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Clear Springs proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Falcons 1-0. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Falcons are ranked 210th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clear Springs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those nine contests. As for Brazoswood, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Brazoswood might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Clear Springs in their previous meeting back in January. Can Brazoswood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
