Softball Recap: Valley Mills Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Valley Mills can now relate to. They fell just short of the Muenster Hornets by a score of 10-8 on Thursday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Lacee Engelbrecht made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ember Mathews, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Valley Mills' defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Muenster, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 22 of their last 23 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 26-9-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Valley Mills nor Muenster have any future games scheduled.
