Dayspring Christian Academy waltzed into their contest on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Denver Academy Mustangs an 11-0 shutout. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mustangs, too.

Not much got past Owen Steward, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Denver Academy off the board. Steward has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kai Polk, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Bohl, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Dayspring Christian Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Denver Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Looking ahead, Dayspring Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Wiggins at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Denver Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
