Basketball Game Preview: Zanesville Blue Devils vs. Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies

The Zanesville Blue Devils will take on the Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Zanesville turned things around against Licking Heights on Saturday. They skirted past the Hornets 45-42. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since December 10, 2024.

Meanwhile, Johnstown-Monroe entered their tilt with Licking Heights on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the Hornets 41-22. Given the Johnnies' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Hornets are ranked 501st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Johnstown-Monroe pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Zanesville, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16.
