Softball Game Preview: Calistoga Wildcats vs. Technology Titans

For the first time this season, Calistoga will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Technology Titans at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Saturday. Calistoga lost 11-1 to Ferndale.

Meanwhile, Technology was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Tomales, falling 28-10.

Alice Matticola and Catalina Lopez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Matticola scored a run while getting on base in both of her plate appearances, while Lopez scored two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That run marked the first that Matticola scored this season. Another player making a difference was Gianella Gazzano, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Calistoga's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Technology, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Calistoga was able to grind out a solid win over Technology in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, winning 15-10. Will Calistoga repeat their success, or does Technology has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
