Football Game Preview: Krum Bobcats vs. Van Alstyne Panthers

Krum hasn't had much luck against Van Alstyne recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bobcats will welcome the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Krum's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

On Friday, Krum made easy work of Caddo Mills and carried off a 42-17 victory. Fans of the Bobcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Will Holland had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 163 yards and one TD, while also picking up 47 receiving yards. Holland is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 103 every time he's taken the field this season. Another back making a difference was Mateo Gonzalez, who rushed for 26 yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Krum was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Krum's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Van Alstyne came up short against Aubrey last Friday and fell 29-19. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Chaparrals recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Krum pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their offensive performance: the team's won by an average of 38 points thus far. As for Van Alstyne, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Things could have been worse for Krum, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 47-33 loss to Van Alstyne when the teams last played back in October of 2024.
