Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Dripping Springs' Seventh in Last Nine Outings

While Dripping Springs put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Akins. Dripping Springs put the hurt on Akins with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Addy Knapp tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since March 1st.

On the hitting side, Lorelei Gamble was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Elianna Amato was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Dripping Springs is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. Akins dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Dripping Springs is set to take on their familiar foe Austin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Akins will square off against rival Westlake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
