Basketball Recap: Cape Elizabeth Falls Short of York in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cape Elizabeth can now relate to. They were beaten by the York Wildcats 76-37 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Capers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Wildcats are ranked fourth).

Cape Elizabeth's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for York, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Cape Elizabeth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for York, they will face off against Spruce Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. York knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Spruce Mountain likes a good challenge.
