After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gray Collegiate Academy, Gilbert was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 58-49 win over the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won nine in a row.

Gilbert's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Blythe Price led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Price is becoming a predictor of Gilbert's success: when she posts at least ten rebounds the team is 3-1 (and 2-16 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Campbell, who posted eight points and eight boards.

Gilbert's win bumped their record up to 5-17. As for Brookland-Cayce, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilbert will welcome Airport at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Brookland-Cayce, they will host North Augusta at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Augusta will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something Brookland-Cayce surely won't give up without a fight.
