Game recap: Winning streak over as South Pointe defeats Nation Ford

South Pointe (Rock Hill, S.C.) snapped Nation Ford (Fort Mill, S.C.)'s 4-game winning streak, with a 43-14 victory on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Josh Brice touchdown run in the second quarter, the Stallions led 23-7 at the half.

South Pointe expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. SP scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by Davonta Blake to Kyle Brandt.

With the win the Rock Hill school extended its winning streak to seven games. The Stallions defeated the Trojans 28-25 last week.



Dalton Helms made a difference for the Falcons The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to four on the year.

South Pointe's most effective player was Blake. He threw three touchdowns.

SP had given up an average of 11.3 points prior to the contest. Nation Ford's 14 points were well below its season average of 39.0 per game.

A 26-8 South Pointe victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

The defeat comes as a step back for Nation Ford, which notched a 37-20 victory over Lancaster in its previous outing.

South Pointe (7-0) goes up against Rock Hill in a AAAA Region III game matchup next week, while Nation Ford (5-2) locks horns with York also in a AAAA Region III game.
