Volleyball Recap: Ella Ross Key Part of Team Effort in Braves Win

There's no place like home for Bellmont, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the Norwell Knights 3-0 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Braves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bellmont not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Norwell to exactly 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 25-19.

Bellmont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Ross, who had eight digs and four aces. What's more, Ross posted three assists, the most she's had over her last two matches. Another player making a difference was Gracie Riggs, who had 12 assists and nine digs.

Despite the loss, Norwell had strong showings from Autumn Lee, who had nine digs and five assists, and Aubryn Keller, who had six digs.

Bellmont has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. As for Norwell, their defeat ended a five-match streak of away wins and brought them to 23-4.

Bellmont and Norwell should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Braves (ranked 49th) will meet DeKalb (ranked 271st) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Norwell will take on New Haven at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (57 vs. 313).
