On Tuesday Wharton's undefeated season almost came to an end. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Gaither Cowboys. Six seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Eliza Connell made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lauren Aulet, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those RBI were her first of the season.
