Temecula Prep is 2-8 against San Jacinto Valley Academy since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Samiyah Antoine was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Amina Antoine was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, San Jacinto Valley Academy came tearing into Wednesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Conquerors as they made off with an 18-6 win. Considering the Wolves have won eight contests by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Avilika Arana was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, San Jacinto Valley Academy got a massive performance out of Priscilla Bidriezca, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Bidriezca has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lillian Fernley, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
San Jacinto Valley Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 13.2.
San Jacinto Valley Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Temecula Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Temecula Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like San Jacinto Valley Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
