Football Game Preview: Montgomery County Eagles vs. Dooly County Bobcats

Montgomery County has gone a perfect 3-0 against Dooly County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will welcome the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. Montgomery County is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Montgomery County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Telfair County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 24-21 on Friday.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jaquez Kelly, who picked up 145 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah McEwen, who gained 103 total yards and a touchdown.

Even if they lost, Montgomery County's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Kenya Tate was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

Meanwhile, Dooly County had to suffer through a 50-9 loss at the hands of Wheeler County.

Dooly County's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Montgomery County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Montgomery County beat Dooly County 34-22 when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
