Baseball Recap: Temecula Prep Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Temecula Prep won the last time they faced Hamilton and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Patriots were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bobcats. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Nikolaz Gonzalez made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Noah Scarlett was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Jacob Dulaney also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Temecula Prep is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Hamilton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Coincidentally, Temecula Prep and Hamilton will both be playing San Jacinto Valley Academy the next time they take the field. The Bobcats will host the Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Patriots will head out to face them at 3:40 p.m. on Friday.
