Baseball Preview: Sycamore Spartans vs. DeKalb Barbs

Sycamore is 9-1 against DeKalb since May of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Sycamore Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the DeKalb Barbs at 12:00 p.m. Sycamore is looking to tack on another W to their 14-game streak on the road dating back to last season.

Sycamore can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They put the hurt on Kaneland with a sharp 6-0 win.

Meanwhile, DeKalb didn't have quite enough to beat Waubonsie Valley on Thursday and fell 3-2.

Brodie Farrell put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Farrell was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.

Farrell wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Kees, who went 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Sycamore's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for DeKalb, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.
