Football Game Preview: St. Anthony Saints vs. Salesian Mustangs + Official Tickets

The St. Anthony Saints will head out to take on the Salesian Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Anthony will be strutting in after a win while Salesian will be coming in after a loss.

St. Anthony's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat La Salle 29-0. The victory continues a trend for the Saints in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Salesian after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Crespi who ended up claiming the real prize. The Mustangs took a 31-16 bruising from the Celts. The Mustangs were up 14-0 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

St. Anthony will need to focus on slowing down Donovan Shirley, one of several Salesian players who made an impact when they last played. He threw for 293 yards and a pair of TDs.

Even if they lost, Salesian's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Crespi's side was Dylan Edwards, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles.

Salesian's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for St. Anthony, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

St. Anthony couldn't quite finish off Salesian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 and fell 10-7. Can the Saints avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
