Basketball Recap: East Davidson Golden Eagles vs. Salisbury Hornets

East Davidson lost against Salisbury back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The East Davidson Golden Eagles were beaten by the Salisbury Hornets 75-31. While losing is never fun, the Golden Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 595th, while the Hornets are ranked 177th).

Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dayln Grady, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Tegin Hedrick, who earned 11 points.

Myles Smith was his usual excellent self, putting up 23 points for Salisbury. Smith's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Taylor, who had 13 points.

East Davidson dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Salisbury, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
