Baseball Game Preview: Woodland Warriors vs. Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers

The Woodland Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Woodland has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 15.

Woodland fell victim to Henry-Senachwine and their airtight pitching crew last Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mallards.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Gardner-South Wilmington was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They came up short against Seneca, falling 7-1. The Panthers have struggled against the Fighting Irish recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Gardner-South Wilmington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Gray, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Gardner-South Wilmington's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Woodland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-16.

Woodland skirted past Gardner-South Wilmington 7-6 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
