McGuffey dropped their record down to 7-4-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Brownsville Falcons by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Highlanders have suffered since May 7, 2024.

Sam Stout made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Preston Hornak, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Brownsville, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Brownsville's side, the team relied heavily on Jeremiah McDonald, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was McDonald's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnathan Vasbinder, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
