Basketball Recap: Socastee Comes Up Short

Socastee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 66-31 loss at the hands of the Archbishop Moeller Fighting Crusaders. The Braves were probably out for revenge after losing 71-31 to them when the teams met back in December of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Socastee lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Joshua Brown, who posted nine points. Bryson Sams was another key player, putting up eight points.

Socastee's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Archbishop Moeller, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.

Socastee will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Carolina Forest at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Archbishop Moeller, they will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Windermere Prep at 12:00 p.m.
