Baseball Game Preview: Smithson Valley Rangers vs. Rouse Raiders

The Smithson Valley Rangers will face off against the Rouse Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Smithson Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Rouse's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Eagle Pass hit Smithson Valley with a five-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rangers came up short against the Eagles, falling 11-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rangers have suffered since June 6, 2025.

Meanwhile, Rouse entered their tilt with Lake Belton on Saturday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Broncos.

Rouse's win bumped their record up to 28-3. As for Smithson Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-8.

Smithson Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Rouse in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Rangers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
