Basketball Recap: Westview Skates Past Omaha South with Ease

Westview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They really took it to the Omaha South Packers for the full four quarters, racking up an 87-52 victory. The Wolverines have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tayvin Zephier-Murphy, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 25 points. Trey Griggs was another key player, going 5-for-9 en route to 16 points and four steals.

Westview was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha South only seven assists.

Omaha South's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lou Hodoly, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 12 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Williams, who posted nine points.

Westview's win bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Omaha South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 18 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.

Westview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-45 defeat against Papillion-LaVista on the 3rd. Omaha South does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
