            Basketball Recap: Springport Spartans vs. Stockbridge Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            Springport has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took  a  59-45 bruising from the Stockbridge Panthers on Friday. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won  49-47.
 Stockbridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Shannon Henderson, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 16 points and nine  rebounds. Henderson has been hot, having  posted eight or more  boards the last seven times he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Noah Sandecki, who  went 5 for 9  en route to 11  points in addition to seven  assists and seven  steals.
Springport's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Stockbridge, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record  this season.
 Springport and Stockbridge should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage  in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Springport will  take on  Olivet  at 7:00  p.m.  on Saturday up  286 places (202 vs. 488). Similarly,  Stockbridge (ranked 147th) will meet Clinton (ranked 453rd)  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
