Basketball Game Preview: Cornerstone Christian Warriors vs. Kinkaid Falcons

The Cornerstone Christian Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Kinkaid Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cornerstone Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70 points per game this season.

Cornerstone Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 77-53 margin over San Marcos HomeSchool. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Panthers are ranked 1124th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Benjamin Wagner, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joaquin Galindo, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Kinkaid was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against St. John's, falling 77-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered since January 23, 2024.

Cornerstone Christian pushed their record up to 22-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.9 points per game. As for Kinkaid, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

Cornerstone Christian beat Kinkaid 48-40 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Will Cornerstone Christian repeat their success, or does Kinkaid have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
