Basketball Recap: Wake Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Wake Christian Academy was the 83-80 winner over St. David when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs took a hard 67-50 fall against the St. David's Warriors on Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Wake Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Paxton Coon posted 18 points. The contest was Coon's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Will Curry, who put up six points and six rebounds.

George Coleman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for St. David's, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. Coleman is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Kazim Oladipo was another key player, going 7 of 12 en route to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Wake Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for St. David's, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Wake Christian Academy has already played their next matchup, a 67-45 loss against Wilmington Christian Academy on the 14th. As for St. David's, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-61 defeat against Cary Christian on the 13th.
